We have had a really busy summer and it’s been great to see all these live events bringing fans back together in the real world.
We’ve worked with some fantastic app developers who are delivering new interactive features (including Crowd Connected’s navigation, push notification and location analytics platform) to enhance the visitor experience.
Here’s a handful of notable deployments over recent months:
Cannes Lions
Ryan Reynolds. Paris Hilton. Malala Yousafzai. Sir Martin Sorrell. Patrick Stewart. Even Volodymyr Zelenskyy by video link. Just a selection of the A list names attending Cannes this week at Ascential ‘s Lions International Festival of Creativity.
The elite of the world’s media, tech and advertising execs have made a beeline for the south of France for a week of celebration, networking and insight.
And Crowd Connected is there too – our technology is integrated into the official Grip mobile app, making it location aware to the benefit of delegates, sponsors and the organisers.
A superb line-up of summer festivals
Summer is peak festival season in Europe and North America and we’ve had a blast successfully deploying our technology at many of them, including the big ones: Glastonbury, Roskilde, British Summer Time, Rock Werchter, Tomorrowland and Sziget.
Farnborough AirShow
1500 exhibitors. 100,000sqm of exhibition space. Static aircraft and flying displays, US$192billion in orders taken. Over 80,000 visitors. The Farnborough International Airshow reignited the aerospace industry on a grand scale. And we were proud to play our part.
Organisers FIA benefitted from the full suite of our location services to enhance the show’s mobileapp (from Kyan), including:
- Indoor and outdoor positioning
- Blue dot navigation
- Site-wide analytics including heatmapping and exhibitor footfall metrics
- Location-based messaging
Outernet
At the end of August we were on site at Outernet London, the new digitally enabled streetscape located next to Tottenham Court Road tube station.
Combining a historic location with the latest technology, the ground-breaking destination promises to deliver “music, film, art, gaming and retail experiences in new breath-taking ways” to over 100million visitors a year – including through some of the world’s largest 360-degree 8K Ultra HD screens.
So a location with technology at its heart… sounds like the perfect fit for Crowd Connected. We’re proud that Outernet Global chose our indoor positioning system to integrate with their official mobile app, supplied by our friends at Venuetize and can’t wait for our next visit!
Autumn Fair
We were back at the NEC earlier this month where our indoor positioning system was powering the blue dot in the Autumn Fair mobile app, delivered by our partner, Grip
Hyve Group provided a great example of how, post-COVID, exhibition and tradeshow organisers are promoting indoor navigation as a primary benefit of their event mobile app. Frequently this is in direct response to feedback from show visitors that finding their way around a large show floor can be a challenge.
Improved wayfinding enables visitors to easily navigate the show, find what they came for and discover products they didn’t know were there.
Digital X
We had our inaugural outing to Digital X: the world exhibition of digitalization and we were really excited to be a part of it.
Run by Deutsche Telekom, Digital X transformed the city of Cologne and brought the most relevant megatrends of the future in a tangible way to over 30,000 people.
Different route guided visitors from trend to trend and help them discover the individual neighbourhoods, brandhouses and marketplaces.
And Crowd Connected’s full suite of location features was accessed via the mobileapp from our brilliant partner, Grip, to provide a seamless multi-site navigational experience.
