Crowd Connected, a leading provider of indoor positioning and location analytics software, has been named a 2022 Gartner Cool Vendor in the report titled, “Cool Vendors™ in Indoor Location Technologies and Sensors” by Annette Zimmermann, Nick Jones, Bill Ray and Tim Zimmerman at Gartner®, Inc. The report highlights interesting and new vendors that help organizations innovate across the technology stack with indoor location services.
We’re honored and thrilled as we consider this recognition an acknowledgement of our efforts in growing Crowd Connected from conception over the past eight years. In our opinion, being a Cool Vendor is a testament to our team’s hard work and dedication. Building an industry-leading indoor positioning platform that delivers navigation, footfall analytics, space utilization and customer engagement all in one place hasn’t been easy, so it feels great to be recognized as part of this report.
The Gartner report points out, “The indoor location service market is projected to grow to a $55 billion business by 2030 from a nascent market of approximately $2 billion today. The underlying assumptions postulate that several important challenges need to be addressed, such as high solution cost, platform compatibility and privacy concerns, in order to realize this trajectory.”
These issues identified by Gartner® have been major drivers of our platform development. Crowd Connected’s indoor positioning engine continually adapts to each individual phone, and the changing environment, so it always works. There’s no need for fingerprinting so positioning isn’t limited to specific places, routes, beacon positions or starting points. It works across the entire site, indoors and outdoors and across multiple floors and buildings. So it’s very quick and easy to deploy and can be delivered at low cost.
The Crowd Connected platform is the most open and compatible on the market. It has deep integrations with all the leading indoor mapping companies and has pre-built connectors with all the major push notification providers. It can also easily integrate with analytics or other third-party systems using simple APIs and data exports.
The SDK gathers location data just as well in the background as when navigating. But the privacy-first design means that background location is only enabled when users are within your site. This helps with compliance, and also encourages users to remain opted-in delivering more data, from more devices, more of the time.
Organizations spread across 26 countries, from multinational entertainment brands to the operators of individual premises, license Crowd Connected’s technology to optimize the real-world customer experience.
